Our vision is to transform the centre of Stevenage so that it once again represents the aspirations of its people, and makes it an attractive proposition in which to live, work, and play.

We want to invest for the future; refresh, improve and develop our entire town whilst retaining its unique culture and history, and restore Stevenage to its former glory.

A growing family

Sara relocated her family from London to Stevenage, find out why it’s benefited them

“We moved around all over Greater London and the South before we found our perfect place to settle down in Stevenage. We rented a shoebox in the city, lived at close quarters at my mum and dad’s, and nearly ran a mile when we saw property prices in other commuter towns! With our daughter on the way we definitely needed to upsize – and in Stevenage we finally found the ideal house, and a place to call our own family home.”

“We love our home in Stevenage… it gives us lots of space, easy access to outdoor activities, shopping and good schools right on our doorstep”

Bigger and on budget

“In the city or other commuter towns, we would’ve only been able to afford a flat, but with pushchairs, cots, toys, not to mention an extra bedroom, a tiny overpriced apartment in North London just wouldn’t do. So we turned to Stevenage, where we saw loads of great houses all well within our budget, and spacious enough to start and grow our family.”

“In Stevenage the average house prices are around £200k cheaper than other towns like St Albans or Hertford and are even more affordable compared to where we were living in London, meaning we could get much, much more for our money.”

Family-friendly freedom

“Of course it wasn’t just indoor space we needed; a range of extra-curricular activities for young ones and a family-friendly environment were just as important, both of which were on offer here in Stevenage. My daughter started her horse-riding classes here this year, and she absolutely loves it! There’s a real community feel amongst all of the new families, and we don’t go far on our weekend walks in the park before we bump into one of her new school friends.

“Stevenage really has ticked all the boxes for us as first time parents. The affordable house prices, work-life balance, and child-friendly parks and recreational areas, mean there’s no better place than Stevenage to settle down and begin life as a family.”
