Fairlands Valley Park is a ten-time winner of the coveted Green Flag Award, the national benchmark for public parks across the UK. The park consists of 120 acres of green open spaces, sailing lakes, zip wire lines, rock climbing walls and access to water sports facilities. Five sites in Stevenage have green flag awards.

Stevenage benefits from 45km of segregated, uninterrupted cycle networks wrapped around and throughout the town centre. The network is inspired by Dutch infrastructure and is fully integrated into the town’s existing transport network, providing safe and sustainable travel around the town and the surrounding areas.

Something for everyone

One of the jewels in our crown is the Stevenage FC Foundation, the official independent charity of Stevenage Football Club. The foundation delivers a variety of sporting and educational based activities across Stevenage, North Hertfordshire and Welwyn Hatfield engaging and inspiring over 75,000 people aged 2 to 92 years old. For more information about the Foundation and the range of activities it provides to Stevenage residents, visit stevenagefcfoundation.com

In addition, the town is also home to Stevenage Golf and Conference Centre which includes both 9 and 18-hole courses, the Lister tennis club and local rugby, cricket and hockey sides, amongst others. And, if you’re looking to hone your mind rather than your body, our town also played host to the 2018 UK Rubik’s Cube Championships!’
